Statement of Current Marriage Situation

As some of you may have heard, Nolan and I have been separated for the past year and I'm now at a place to make a permanent decision.  I have started the proceeding towards divorce.

That being said, there are a few things I would like to communicate.

First of all, no one comes to a decision like this without an incredible amount of thought.  This is not a decision that I take lightly in any way. I am very aware of the effects of divorce as well as what the Bible says about it and how it will be viewed by the Christian community.

I love my children and would never want to bring pain to their lives.  I have spent the past year avoiding discussions about details as to why I have decided this.  There are only a few people who I have discussed details with, I will continue in the same way I have spent this year and I will not discuss details.

It is my hope that people will conclude that if I was to make a decision as severe as this (risking hurting my children, effecting ministry, letting down friends and disappointing many people who have looked up to me over the years) that it was a decision I felt I needed to make.

When someone who has a public life decides to do something like this, the public feel the need to know why.  This however is a private matter.  Are there reasons? Yes.  Just because someone choses not to voice details does not mean that there are none.

I know many people viewed Nolan and I as a type of example and I hope that the idea of the example is still held onto, even though we as people have fallen short of it.

I never wanted to hurt anyone or let anyone down and I am deeply sorry for the pain it will cause those of you who feel that way. I am sorry for the shortcomings on my part, where because of my pain I was unable to improve this.  I know many of you have watched us, known us and walked with us through the years.  Many of you might ask, "if they couldn't make it work, who could?"  It is always so important for us to walk on a road of healing in our own hearts and if we don't, we can get down a road of pain farther than we wanted to be.

Nolan and I are not in agreement on things that have lead to this point or the final decision of divorce.

Again, I am sorry to those of you who feel let down.  Please don't use my failure as a reason to give up on the values of relationship.

I hope to continue on a road of healing.

Thank you to those who, despite not knowing all the information, perhaps even disagreeing with me, have nevertheless still loved and shown His grace.

RESCUING WOMEN AND CHILDREN

COLLECTIVE PRODUCTION is starting a new show as of March 21 2011.  This show is another mercy and justice production, this time the purpose is to raise awareness and funds for women and children sold into the sex trade.  We will be working with the organization Love 146e way of donation, it would be greatly appreciated.

This year's cast is much bigger than previous and the show more complex.

This has caused the budget to increase slightly so we are asking those who have a heart for this cause to partner with us.

62nd AVENUE - songs for the broken

This past season has been a difficult one and I found myself feeling very broken and discouraged.

As a worship leader, I feel the responsibility to bring music to the church that can bring them closer to God.  It's the main thing of what I do.  I found myself though searching for how I could say what I was feeling and keep it "corporate".  Eventually, I decided that I wanted to just be honest and write what I really felt.  I created an imaginary place called 62nd Ave.  It's  the place where the brokenhearted come, to cry out their tears that no one else can hear.  You know there is that kind of cry inside that you only do a handful of times in your life?  That cry where every part of you is crying at the same time?  The cry where you feel like you might die from the pain?  62nd Ave is the place where people go when they cry like that.  No one talks there cause people don't have to say a word.  People just know what that pain feels like.

I started to think about all kinds of pain and shame and struggle that people live with and the song ideas just kept coming.  All of them centered around the idea of this avenue where people walk, or sit on the curb or just hang out until they can go and face the world again.  The songs are very raw and real.

I wanted to keep the songs slightly rough because I wanted them to sound almost busking like.  I didn't want them to be polished because the emotions aren't polished.  I keep thinking about how Jesus left the 99 to go after the 1.  I feel like this CD is the for the ONE.  Maybe not everyone will be able to relate to it but there will be those who listen and will just get it.
